In my final years of high school, I spent a lot of time researching different careers in an attempt to find the right one. I stared by looking at my personality and the aspects of school that I excelled in and enjoyed. I found the sciences to be my favourite subject and that I had a particular interest in the healthcare system and medicine. Following considerable research, nursing seemed to be the perfect fit. In addition, a nursing job guarantee initiative by the Ontario government finalized my decision. Furthermore, nurses receive good pay, benefits, and a pension, which is always a plus when looking for a career. A nurse needs to be dedicated, focused, and most importantly caring. I have all of these characteristics, but I am always looking improve them through my studies. I enjoy the fact that nursing is a career that is ever changing and that I will always be required to further my education.
